It’s January 18, 2024 and I’ve decided to add a blog section to this website with a focus
on my songwriting. However, before delving into the details about the inspiration behind
each song, a bit of background seems fitting.
Life often takes unexpected turns. In my case, it led me down the path of medical
school and a career as a physician. THEN came Covid, and with it, a period of
quarantine that afforded me with an unforeseen opportunity. I had a chance to pause and reflect on the blessings in my life, as well as an opportunity to observe the world and the challenges we face. Most importantly, it was an opportunity to finally pursue my true passion, songwriting.
My journey with music began at the age of 6 when I first saw The Beatles on The Ed
Sullivan Show. I picked up a guitar.
When I wasn’t doing schoolwork or playing sports with my friends, I remained glued to
the radio, playing along with some of the greatest songs ever written. It was the mid to
late ‘60’s. It was a magical period. I listened to everything from top forty to country, what
is now called classic rock.
I cherished my LP’s. I still have them!
A few years later, I was fortunate enough to be given a small tape recorder and a
microphone… my first recording studio.
Fast forward 50 years, and I now have a real studio in my home in Los Angeles, where I
can work out my ideas and record music.
I hope that in reading this blog, I can share my inspiration for the songs, as well as acknowledge the very talented musicians that played on each track.
